"Born and raised in Kimberly, WI, I can't remember the point that I started making art. It seems like it has always been a part of me. However, it wasn't until I was over 30 and went back to school that I received formal art training. I graduated from UW-Green Bay with a B.A. in Graphic Design Emphasis in Integrated Communications and a Minor in Art. Although I participated in student shows during my college years it wasn't until my senior year that I had my first solo show.
A few years after graduating I switched from oil painting to watercolors. This has become my passion. I love the freshness and spontaneity of the medium along with the challenges it presents, particularly when painting outdoors.
Vivid color is always important in my work, whether I am painting people, landscapes, umbrellas, flowers, boats or whatever inspires me. Although I stick to watercolor painting these days I do enjoy using a variety of types of paper including traditional hot and cold press and YUPO, a synthetic paper. I also experiment with different processes. Even if I don't use a newly learned technique in my work I enjoy the process of trying something outside my comfort zone.
I currently live in Neenah, WI and participate in several Art Fairs throughout the summer."
